Greek mountain tea is a single varietal herbal infusion made from the flowers, leaves and stems of the herb Sideritis, which is native to Greece. It only grows in the mountains at very high elevations.
This particular species is called scardica, and is native to Mt. Olympus.
It is rich in polyphenols and antioxidants, naturally caffeine-free and is deliciously mild and earthy in flavor with floral notes and hints of citrus and mint.
It is hand-farmed by our friend Dimitris Bratelis, the proprietor of Olympus Farmstead, in rough, stony soils on the upper slopes of the mountain. Vasilis is very passionate about Mt. Olympus and its native herbs and is thrilled to bring these products to a wider market.

Brewing:
Place a small handful (3g) in a pot with about 12oz (1 1/2 cups) of water. Bring to a boil for 3-5 minutes, then let it steep for another 3-5 minutes. Remove herbs or strain, and enjoy.
Pairs extremely well with honey and makes a great iced tea.
