Prized by chefs throughout the world, Greek oregano is the standard by which all oregano is measured. In the spring and summer, its intoxicating scent fills the air of the hillsides in the country.
This native species of oregano has grown throughout the mountains and hillsides of Greece for thousands of years. It is delightfully fragrant, flavorful and intense. Use sparingly; a little goes a long way.
It is hand-farmed by our friend Dimitris Bratelis, the proprietor of Olympus Farmstead, in rough, stony soils on the upper slopes of the mountain. Vasilis is very passionate about Mt. Olympus and its native herbs and is thrilled to bring these products to a wider market.
