The baked olives have a “best by” date of 5/1/24. They are perfectly fine, but we are offering them for 50% off. A “best by” date indicates when a product will be of best flavor or quality. It is not a purchase or safety date and is assigned somewhat arbitrarily by the food regulators based on general categories.
These plump, slow-roasted Amfissa olives are sweet and buttery. They roast for hours at low temperature until they have wrinkled pleasantly and lose enough moisture to give them a chewy, delicious texture. They’re great as a snack or as part of a meze or hors d’oevres spread. You can add them to salads, especially winter cabbage and greens salads.
