Tangerine Loukoumia from Chios (7 oz)

Citrus

$5.50

The island of Chios, located in the Aegean, is renowned for its citrus fruits as well as the exotic resin, mastiha. When the Genoese settled on the island during the Middle Ages, they cultivated vast citrus orchards of oranges and tangerines, especially in the area of Kampos.

Loukoumia or "Turkish Delight" is a chewy confection that is popular throughout Greece. This unique variety is flavored from tangerines (mandarin oranges), which have grown on the island for centuries

Ingredients: Sugar, Glucose Syrup, Corn Starch, Chian Tangerine Peel (3%), Tangerine Flavouring (0.15%), Acidity Regulator: Citric Acid

Sweet & Messy

Packaged well, but beware when you open the box, powdered sugar everywhere. Open over the kitchen sink for easy clean up. This will last a long time as I only eat one piece per week. This is a nice treat, citrus wasn't sour or bitter.

Very good...soft and authentic

My grandchildren liked these orange Loukoumia better than the Masticha and Almond ones. Good loukoumi, though.
